Thought of the Week

It’s Not How You Start, But How You Finish

How many projects have we begun and not finished?

“For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’ … So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions” (Luke 14:28-30, 33).

As the Lord taught, “And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word, but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful” (Mark 4:18-19).

What are we willing to lose that we might gain eternal life?
